About me

I'm Amy, the face behind Greentree Crafts. I am an embroiderer, sewist, weaver, designer and all round experimental crafty person. I currently bide in the wilds of Romanno Bridge in the Scottish Borders after moving from Edinburgh City in September 2020.

I grew up in the countryside of central Scotland, living on a sheep farm, country  cottage to a town house in Bo'ness (we moved a lot!). Though always surrounded by greenery, flowers and insects.

I started my Greentree life in 2008 when I was making jewellery as an aside after completing my Animal Biology degree at Napier (ah the good times). Since then I discovered textiles and haven't looked back.

I have taken my embroidery to local fairs such as the West End Market, Summerhall, Out of the Blue Drill Hall, 3d2d Christmas Market at the Assembly Rooms and others around Edinburgh.

I have now added Greentree Studio to my collection, where I hope to show you hints and tips on embroidery as well as share progress photos of current projects. I will also be sharing free PDF patterns for you to try at home.
